Pteropus {flying fox}

Pteropus {flying fox}

The Pteropus, commonly called "The Flying Fox", are the largest bats in the world. They are found in the tropics and subtropics of Asia, Australia, Indonesia, islands off East Africa and a number of remote oceanic islands in both the Indian and Pacific Oceans.

Unlike the microbats, the Flying Fox do not possess echolocation. Instead, they have well developed eyesight and sense of smell. Wikipedia info about pteropus.
